Mario found us a wonderful, 160-year-old historical home in downtown Oakville in 2006, and 10 years later helped us again – this time with the purchase of a Bronte Harbour townhome adjacent to the lake and walking trail. He’s a very hands-on agent, meaning he doesn’t off-load the more tedious chores on junior agents - as so many ‘big-time’ realtors do. It’s a tactic that can actually hurt the seller – as one of our Bronte neighbours, sadly, has learned: Six months on the market and still no offers. Mario Basta sold our olde Oakville home in FOUR days – for a few thousand less than list price. Best of all, he was able to knock $40,000 off the list of our new home in Bronte. Mario invests a lot of energy and passion in his work. He was constantly on the phone to us, with updates, options, or just to say ‘Hi.’ He dropped by a few times, too. And, he has excellent contacts in the reno, electrical, plumbing, inspection and appliance repair fields, none of whom price gouge. We know, because we have used several of his referrals and were completely satisfied. I am a professional home stager and I work with a lot of real estate agents, but when I met Mario Basta I chose him to sell my house, because I recognized that he is an exceptional agent. We employed him to sell our home in Oakville last year, when the market was really bad for sellers and there were many houses on sale in our area. He did a very good job again and we got an offer on the first day it was on the market for the full asking price. Really what more can you ask for from a real estate agent? I've recommended Mario Basta to everyone I know. He's a true professional and a genuinely nice guy. I realize it won't always be this easy to sell your home, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better Realtor.
